Do not confuse with the close by 'Nyali Beach International Hotel' which is far better standard. The hotel is undergoing refurbishment and should be much better for the Xmas season.

2011. I have a mixed opinion on the resort. The pool, and restaurant area were very nice. In fact the food there is brilliant and there is a huge choice for vegetarians. The rooms were OK, nothing special, but the bathrooms were old, not working properly and in dire need of refurblishment. Reasonable room with a nice view. However the hotel was very clean which I could not fault them on.

2011. Location is good, hotel is beautiful, but the rooms we lived are in the old building. so the room inside all are old but clean. if you live in another building the condition will be better. The food is average quality, service is a bit slow- african style, but they are friendly. Nyali beach is beautiful but too much seaweed on the beach and in the sea.

2011. We spent a week here for a conference. The hotel has obviously seen better days, but it was such a delightful stay, mainly because of the warmth and friendliness of the staff. The food was excellent; we particularly enjoyed the vegetarian curries on offer most nights in the dinner buffet.

2011. They've tried with the hotel. But refurbishment over the last year seems to just paper over the cracks. To me this is one of the least atttractive Hotels to visit. Food is OK, but very little choice or variety. If you white, male and don't mind being hassled by prostitutes... enjoy the bar.

2011. It grows on you, give it a day or so, friendly staff, beautifull gardens, nice for a short stay.

2010. Nyali Beach now has a kind of faded luxury feel to it. The standard rooms, whilst comfy and clean, are in need of refurbishing, and the mosquito nets need to be checked for holes. The tv reception also left something to be desired, but then you don't go to Kenya to watch tv, so it wasn't really a problem. The communal areas are lovely. The major plus point for this place was the staff - friendly, polite, cheerful, incredibly helpful wherever they could be, I couldn't have asked for better.

2010. Better than expected - the room was clean, food good and staff eager to please. Did have a problem with the bathroom in that water had a strange grey tinge and shower not that powerful but manageable.

2010. My traveling companion and I both thought this hotel was lovely with many amenities and thoroughly enjoyed our time.

Had a great holiday in Mombasa, though it was twin centre with a safari thrown in (involved camping, great fun!!!). Hotel was everything we had hoped for, right by the beach and was beautiful. Was a really relaxing holiday, once in a lifetime!!!

We have just returned from two weeks in Nyali Beach Hotel. We had some reservations before we went as we had read that it was in recievership, but we neednt have worried. From the minute we stepped foot in the hotel we were treated like v.i.p's. Hot scented towels and a cool drink were very welcome after our long journey. The decor is very colonial in style. The room was basic, but cleaned every day with clean linen every day. Mini fridge in room meant you had a cold drink at all times. And the room was air conditioned at no extra cost, safety deposit box in room for a small daily fee. All staff were extremely courteous and couldnt do enough to help you. Meals were buffet style, kind of, because there were meals served to you from the grill if you wished, and there were chefs available every meal to cook some of the food fresh for you at the buffet.
